“It is in your self-interest to find a way to be very tender.”
- Jenny Holzer
One of the very hardest things to do is to learn to be kind to oneself, and it is only in working from this place that we can learn to truly relate to others. This workshop aims to provide a friendly and affirming space for participants to discuss and meditate on the idea of self-love, compassion, personal boundaries, and self-care. Breathwork and yoga teacher Josephine McRobbie will lead participants in breath practices, movement, and visualization exercises on the topic of self-compassion, and will guide the group through a metta (loving-kindness) meditation to extend the good vibes out to others.
Josephine McRobbie offers yoga, meditation, and breathwork sessions in both group and private settings around the Triangle. Originally from Australia and a yoga student since 2003, she received her 200-hour certification from Blue Lotus in Raleigh, NC, and her Breathwork HT1 Certification with Erin Telford at Maha Rose in Brooklyn, NY. In her classes, she shares tools for cultivating strength, emotional healing, and self-love, with a focus on asana, pranayama, journaling, and visualization. Josephine is also a musician, artist, and film accompanist and believes in the power of yoga to balance and support the creative endeavor
