So here’s the deal.
The Venusian doesn’t play solely in the realm of whimsy and pleasure. The Venusian is hot blooded, heart-forward, wild, and cunningly soft in all the right places. Feminine rage, the scales of justice, and liberation are all Venusian matters. They are, however, Venusian matters that often require support from the fire and force of Mars, god of war. Martian energy is fearsome, ruthless, and unguided by morals and ethics. Mars is a mercenary, one that may directed by the highest bidder. He doesn’t act on good vs evil, nor is he empathetic to a just cause. However… he can be seduced.

Stay with me. 

Venus is the antidote to Mars. She is his proverbial kryptonite. The best way to get Mars to do your bidding, if you’re not a bloodthirsty warlord, is to make Venusian offerings. You now have a very potent one. This is an elixir of the divine feminine’s command over the masculine. Wield it how you see fit.

When I speak of Mars and Venus personified, I speak of their  patronages and our correlating human affairs. I’m referring to a particular energetic current, not a man in the sky. Whether or not you subscribe to the personified myths of planets and deities, these energetic forces are still at play in our day to day lives in very mundane ways. To speak plainly: 

When I refer to Mars I am referring to the many forces that drive ferocity, aggression, victory, power, violence (righteous or otherwise #freeluigi), and fearlessness in our world

When I refer to Venus, I’m speaking to all that which cultivates beauty, connection, empathy, justice, pleasure, and goodness in our world. 

When we petition the ruthless victor, Mars, to do the bidding of the honey-hearted Goddess, we find ourselves with his force behind her vision and have the capacity move toward a better existence. 

The uses of gendered pronouns and words like masculine & feminine are not intended as literal male / female projections. Masculine and feminine energies exist in the spiritual; neither refer to physical sex or socialized gender constructs, both energies are present in every living being.

Employ in any manner of physical spellwork. Anoint your candles with a drop of honey, offer it to your spirits, drizzle some in the bath. Wherever your Venusian sensibilites require Mars' support, use this elixir.

Consume at your own discretion. Recommended only in small amounts for ritual purposes. Avoid all contact with moisture. If your honey develops mold or a rancid odor, do not consume.

You may employ this potion in many manner of ritual craft, but because it is so expertly, deliciously concocted, I highly recommend crafting a spell you can taste :)

My recommendation:
Saturday dinner. Saturn's day. A day of boundaries, protection, cleansing, and banishment.

1. Acquire a whole chicken or skin-on chicken thighs.

2. Mix as much spice as your heart desires with 1 stick of room-temperature butter.

3. Slather the butter under the chicken skin and roast. ~3-4hrs at 300 degrees for a whole chicken, or ~30-45mins at 425 degres for chicken thighs.

Lightly drizzle with honey for a touch of the Venusian. Serve with something grounding like roasted potatoes, and a refreshing & cleansing glass of water.

If you prefer not to (or cannot) consume the spice, don't worry! This is now an apothecary item. Here's how we'll use it:

-As a banishment powder. Sprinkle across thresholds to protect the home and ward against evil**, (juuusssttt a little bit) in the shoes of a person you wish to keep away or be protected from, or at a place you wish never to return to.

** I strongly recommend doing this routinely for eclipses.

Use at your own risk. Employ your caution and best judgment. Never use this powder where a child or animal may ingest it.

-Steep in oil (I prefer olive), seal tightly and store in a cool dark place for up to 3 years. Employ in protection rituals and curse breaking. This is great for anointing candles, adding to spell jars, and adapting to your own cultural folk magical practices that use chili and/or salt.

CAUTION!! Do not allow contact with skin or eyes. Always clean all drips and residue promptly and thoroughly.

Created on the Cancer Full Moon, this limited batch of Florida Water is imbued with the energies of emotional clarity, care, and belonging.

Make a wish, any wish.

Honey jars bring sweetness to any situation and are notoriously potent manifestors.

Write your wish or intention on the small piece of paper in the tiny red envelope. Close it (I used wax dripping from the candle to seal it), and place it in the small glass jar.

Fill the jar with honey while remaining present with your intention. Close the jar tightly and fix the candle to the top by quickly melting the bottom of the candle and sticking it to the lid. Light the candle and visualize your wish coming true as you gaze into the flame.

To keep the honey jar's magic alive, you must feed it. How frequently you do so is up to you. Some feeding methods include candles, incense, sound bath, prayer, dance, anointments, etc.

Honey jars are virtually immortal, as long as they're well fed. They're known for slow, steady, highly impactful magic.
